Trikala is a popular destination of Corinthia the last few years.
It consists of three neighborhoods: the Lower, the Middle and Upper Trikala, each of which is at an altitude of 900m, 1000m and 1100m. It is built on the slopes of Ziria (Mount Killini) in a wooded area of pine trees and firs and it is ideal to visit all year round.
Trikala Traditional Village
Trikala is built where ancient Mysaio used to be, in the 10th century, from the lowlanders, who, chased by invaders, went and built villages in a beautiful and healthy place.
In Lower Trikala (Kato Trikala) guests can visit the stone square with the really old sycamore trees as well as the church of Saint Dimitrios, which was erected in 1697 AD.
Middle Trikala (Mesea Trikala) is perhaps the most developed and popular. Here the visitor can enjoy local cuisine in dozens of restaurants or simply enjoy a coffee in one of the traditional cafes.
Upper Trikala (Ano Trikala) is the least developed of the three but it is the one of the most natural beauty. Here visitors can visit Lake Dasiou and also the Ziria Ski Centre. The area is beautiful throughout the year and there are many forest trails, which are ideal for climbing and hiking in a beautiful natural green surrounding.
